AI Support ROI Calculator

Enter four numbers — monthly ticket volume, the share answerable from your knowledge base, average handle time, and loaded hourly cost — and this calculator estimates the agent hours and dollars AI ticket deflection saves each month, what Tackled costs at that volume, and your net ROI multiple. Results update as you type.

Methodology

How the numbers are calculated

Five transparent formulas — no weighting, no hidden assumptions. Change any input and every figure recomputes from scratch.

AI resolutions / monthtickets × (% answerable ÷ 100)
Agent hours savedAI resolutions × handle time ÷ 60
Support cost savedhours saved × loaded hourly cost
Tackled cost$99 + max(0, AI resolutions − 100) × $0.89
Net ROI multiple(cost saved − Tackled cost) ÷ Tackled cost

The model is conservative on purpose: it prices only agent time on tickets your knowledge base can already answer, and ignores 24/7 response speed, fewer escalations, and client satisfaction. It also assumes every deflectable ticket counts as a billed AI resolution — in reality Tackled charges only when the customer confirms the fix or stays silent for 72 hours, and any human reply voids the charge, so your actual bill can only be lower.

FAQ

Calculator questions, answered

What the estimate covers, what Tackled costs at your volume, and how the AI resolution meter works.

How accurate is this AI support ROI estimate?
It is a deliberately simple model: it assumes every knowledge-base-answerable ticket is resolved by AI at your average handle time, and counts nothing else. It ignores upside that is real but hard to price — 24/7 first response in seconds, fewer escalations, and happier clients. In practice deflection ramps up over the first weeks as knowledge gaps get closed, so treat the result as the steady-state monthly figure.
What does Tackled cost at my ticket volume?
Tackled is $99 per company per month with unlimited agents and unlimited clients — every feature included. 100 AI resolutions are included each month; each additional one is $0.89. The calculator applies exactly that formula: $99 + max(0, resolutions − 100) × $0.89.
What counts as an AI resolution?
A ticket the AI resolved entirely on its own: it answered from your knowledge base and the customer confirmed the fix — or stayed silent for 72 hours. If the customer replies instead, the ticket goes to your team and the charge is voided. AI drafts and human replies are never metered, so your real bill can only be lower than the calculator assumes.
What is a loaded hourly cost and why is $45 the default?
Loaded cost is what an agent hour actually costs the business: salary plus benefits, employer taxes, tools, and overhead, divided by productive hours. For support engineers at software consultancies and MSPs this typically lands between $35 and $65 per hour, so $45 is a conservative middle. Use your own number for a tighter estimate.
